The oral history of William Hollenbeck

A career military man, Lieutenant-Colonel Hollenbeck served two tours in Vietnam before moving on to teach courses on the war at Pittsburg State University where he also worked as an assistant to the university president. Fluent in Vietnamese, LtCol Hollenbeck was a personable and colorful man and was truly an example for all of us. Even in 1989, he spoke words that still ring true today.
What follows are the words of William Hollenbeck as recorded by PHS students Janice Griffiths and Shelly Wright in January 1989.
