Mae Irene (Snow) Rati passed away on February 27, 2024, in Indian Trails, North Carolina.
She was born on April 12, 1938, to Robert Eugene and Irene (Ruby) Snow on a farm in Cherokee County. When she was a small girl, the family moved to a farm northwest of Cherokee, Kansas. She attended school in Cherokee, graduating in the class of 1955. She worked at Phoebe Ann's Laundry in Pittsburg. On December 15, 1958, she went to work at McNally in the accounting department.
She was a member of the Mac-Pitt Club, where she served as secretary for the board of directors. She was also one of the charter members of the American Business Association.
On March 23, 1972, she married Donald Roy Rati in Girard. He survives at the family home. The couple moved to North Platte, Nebraska, where Mae worked at the Montgomery Wards credit department. In April of 1976, they moved back to Pittsburg. She returned to McNally in May of 1976. In September of 1980, she started working part-time, retiring on March 31, 1996, as a cost accountant. The couple then traveled and have been in 49 states together. In July 1998, they moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, returning to Pittsburg in April of 2005. In July of 2009, they purchased a home in Monroe, North Carolina. After selling their home in Pittsburg in September 2012, North Carolina became home and the couple has lived there ever since.
In addition to her husband, survivors include son, Roy Eugene Rati (wife Dana) and grandsons, Eric Robert and Zachary Donald Rati all of Stallings, North Carolina; brother, Wayne Snow of Oklahoma City; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert (Bob) Snow, William (Bill) Snow, and Charles Snow; grandparents, and all her aunts and uncles.
Per her request, her body has been cremated.
