Patsy Peterson

Patsy Loette Peterson, 92, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on February 28, 2024, at Baptist Health Center in Ft. Smith, Kansas.

Pat was born on September 19, 1931, to William Connie and Pauline (May) Darden in Loraine, Texas. Pat was born and raised in Colorado City, TX, and attended schools there. She moved to Pittsburg, KS, in 1951.

On February 24, 1951, she was united in marriage to Emory (Don) Saker, they later divorced. She then married John E. Peterson in Pittsburg, KS. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1995.

Pat first and foremost was a homemaker, raising three children and making the house a home. She was an excellent seamstress and loved music, especially country and gospel. She later worked at J.C. Penny, Montgomery Ward, and Walmart. She also loved flowers and working in her garden.

She was a member of Countryside Christian Church since 1968. Other memberships include New Beginnings, Retired Telephone Operators Group, AARP, Christian Woman's Club, and Four F's.

She is survived by two sons, Gary G. Saker of Mapleton, KS, and Don Richard Saker of Girard, KS; a daughter, Sawannah Saker Lewis of Vian, OK; two brothers, Walt Darden and Ken Darden; a sister, Betty Bevis; two granddaughters, Misty Scoggins, Jessica Marlow, Brandi Saker; two grandsons, Dusty Saker and Jordan Saker; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Wayne Darden, Dink Darden, Eddie Darden, and two sisters; Ila Brown and Paula Neill.

A funeral service will be on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Countryside Christian Church with Dan Muter and Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, KS. Memorial donations can be made to PSI (Patient Services, Inc.) and/or Leukemia Foundation.
