Dana Lynn Jones, 51, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born November 5, 1972, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Paul Eugene and Mary Joan Weiss Milburn.
Dana was a daycare provider who was a lifelong Pittsburg resident. She was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School in the Class of 1992. She later attended Pittsburg State University for 3 years. She worked for Miller's in customer service and in 2002, she opened the Discovery Land Day Care in her home.
She married John Paul Jones on June 23, 1995, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. Mr. Jones survives at the home.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at Pittsburg State University.
Survivors include her husband, John of the home; a daughter, Alexandra Elizabeth Jones of Pittsburg; her mother, Mary Joan Milburn of Pittsburg; a sister, Lisa Marie (Thomas) Dunn of Pittsburg; two brothers, John Paul (Meg) Milburn of Lawrence, and Michael Milburn and husband Dr. Roberto Monarez of Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Eugene Milburn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father Josh Evans as the celebrant. Burial will be at the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Walnut, Kansas. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma where the family will receive friends until 7:30 p.m. following the rosary. The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
