Raynard Eugene Edwards Jr., age 62, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on March 31, 2024.

Ray was born February 23, 1962, in Pittsburg, KS to Raynard Sr. and Mary Jane Edwards. He was known as a hard-working son, husband, Dad, Pappi, Grandpa, Great-Pappi, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. If you were fortunate enough to have known Ray in any of these categories, you knew he had open arms and a heart that loved without question. His fun-loving and happy-go-lucky personality is what he will be most remembered for. Rarely would you hear from him that he wasn't trying to make you laugh with a joke or humorous story.

Ray was a resident of Pittsburg and was employed for many years with the City of Pittsburg. He then moved to Branson, MO. He and Aline lived in Branson for 17 years before returning to their hometown.

Ray never met a stranger and formed many strong friendships wherever he was.

On November 10, 1982, Ray married the love of his life, Pearl Aline. Together they celebrated 41 years of marriage and began raising a family of four beautiful children.

Aline survives of the home along with their children, April Edwards of Girard, KS, Kristen (Jarrod) Williams of Pittsburg KS, Ray III (Ashley) of McCune, KS, and Angel Akers of Girard, KS. He had many grandchildren, Autumn, Daysha, Farrah, Gunner, Trenton, Taven, Paityn, Haley, Lyndan, Brelee, and Markus. He also had three great-grandchildren, Nylah, Faelyn, and Brooks. He leaves behind one sister, Nancy Charles (Kenny), and a brother-in-law, David Beard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raynard Sr. and Mary Jane Edwards, a sister, Cathy Beard, his nephew Bradley Beard, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Ray is also survived faithfully by his pet, Biscuit, who was always by his side.

Ray's legacy is his family that he loved fiercely. There will not be a day that goes by without thinking of our memories of him or the laughter he created. Ray's last heartbeat and breath was with a smile and saying "Mom." We know he is enjoying his new home and celebrating with those preceding him.

Celebration of life services will be held at Lighthouse of Worship in Liberal, MO (525 E. Yale St.) on May 18th at 2 p.m.
