The Friends of Crawford State Park, a local not-for-profit organization, hosted their annual “Lake Blast” Tuesday night as hundreds of area residents poured into Crawford State Park to view the spectacle showcased along the dam. There were numerous activities, ranging from face painting to free watermelon, and the Stone Country band, consisting of local musicians. The band played several songs for attendees across from the Lake View Cafe while the Friends of Crawford State Park served food to raise funds for next year’s celebration.

Hosted by Girard Events Monday night, residents gathered at the Crawford County Fairgrounds to partake of watermelon, tacos, or kettle corn while also participating in a game of “nine square” provided by Living Faith Church during the area’s annual fireworks celebration. One of the many artifacts in the Miner’s Hall Museum is a card table from “Steve’s Place,” owned by Steve Prasniker and donated by grandson Steve Ashbacher. The final concert of this year’s “Sounds of Summer Concert Series” took place Thursday night at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, featuring Ramiro Miranda (violin), Irene Diaz Gill (cello), Aleia Gonzalez (guitar), and Alejandro Avila (piano).
