Judith "Judy" Knapp

Judith "Judy" M. Knapp, 71, of Pittsburg, died at 12:09 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin.

Judith was born June 27, 1952 in Independence, Kansas, a daughter of Warren L. "Hoppy" and Helen M. (Benjamin) Bryant. Judith attended Deering and Radley schools before moving to Girard in 1960, where she graduated from Girard High School in 1970.

Judith married Bruce Curry, Sr. and they divorced. She married Frank "Frankie" Knapp on April 18, 2009 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Frankie survives of the home.

She worked for the U.S. Census Bureau in Pittsburg, the U.S. Department of the Air Force at Fort Riley, FMI Printing Company in Girard, and as pricing manager at G&W Foods in Girard for over 21 years.

Judith was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at rural Girard and the Girard Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, her church activities, crocheting, traveling, and music.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Frankie, of the home, are her sons, Bruce M. Curry, Jr. of Pittsburg and Troy D. Curry of Bernice, Oklahoma; her daughter, Tammy L. Holloway, and her husband, Douglas, of Emporia; her grandchildren, Emma Curry, Michael Holloway, Isabella Varriale, Kyle Holloway, Helen Curry, Liam Curry, Anna Curry, Benny Holloway, and Abbey Curry; her sisters, Evelyn Crawford of Asbury, Missouri and Vickie Mense, and her husband, Steve, also of Asbury; her daughter-in-law, Rachel Curry of Grove, Oklahoma.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Olivia Curry; her brother, James W. Bryant; a sister-in-law, Deanna Wetz; her brother-in-law, Kermit Myers; her first husband, Bruce M. Curry, Sr.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, with Pastor Tom Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin, and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W S. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
