Sheila Katherine Scales, 73, of Pittsburg, died at 8:54 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her residence in Pittsburg.
Kathy was born November 9, 1950 in Girard, Kansas, a daughter of Alfred and Betty (Dietsche) Wheeler.
She married Gary Scales on February 15, 1969 in Girard; he survives of the home.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, Kansas.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed rummage sales and gardening.
In addition to her husband of the home, Kathy is survived by two sons, Joe Scales and his wife Lauren of Roanoke, Virginia, and David Scales of Pittsburg, Kansas; three sisters, Louise Boss of Cherryvale, Kansas, Beverly Denning of Nevada, Missouri, and Anita McGown of McCune, Kansas; four grandchildren, PFC Sean Michael Scales, Samantha Lynn Scales, Jacob Scales, and Jessica Rivera; four great-grandchildren, Elena Rivera, Addison Rivera, Adler Scales and Asher Scales.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Sheila Katherine Scales will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Pittsburg American Legion, 2825 N. Joplin St., Pittsburg, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Harry Hynes Hospice, and these may be left at the Memorial Service.
